ID Released For Redding Man Killed In Head-On Crash Near Monroe/Easton Border

A man killed during a two-vehicle head-on crash near the Monroe/Easton border over the weekend has been identified.

Andy Rivera, 36, of Redding, was killed around 5:33 p.m., Sunday,  July 14, on Route 59 in the area of 757 Stepney Road, said Easton Police Chief Timothy Shaw.

Also, in his vehicle at the time of the accident were two female family members age 62 and 6 years old. 

The second vehicle involved in the accident was driven by a 50-year-old female who had her daughter and another female in her vehicle, both 17 years old. They are international visitors who were in the area while on vacation, the chief said.

Of the five other injured individuals, three are currently still be treated in local hospitals, while the two 17-year-old females were treated and released. 

The crash remains under investigation with the Easton Police Department and the Southern Fairfield County Traffic Unit working jointly. Anyone with any information please call the Easton Police Department at 203-268-4111.

"We mourn with the families affected by this tragic accident, and once again thank all the first responders who arrived on scene to assist the Easton Police Department," Shaw said Easton officers along with the Monroe Police Department, Easton Fire Department, and Monroe Fire Department assisted at the scene.
